For those of you who have no idea what I was like in high school, here's some remaining evidence that I found today while cleaning out my closet:

And, for those of you that did know me, it's just a jog down memory lane.

Let me know what you think.

Where are you?

Have you ever been asked: “What do you think you’ll be doing 5 or 10 years from now?”  I was asked this a lot in gradeschool and high school and it always confused me.  I really had no idea where I was going to be or what I was going to do 5/10 years from then.  It’s probably because I had to spend so much effort thinking about the “now” that it was impossible to think about where I’m going.  Maybe I’m one of the few that has this problem.  Most people I talk to know what they want to do and how they want to live their life.  Or at least, they seem to know what they want in life.  Trust me, I NEVER would have thought that I would have been through what I’ve been through and have what I have 5 or 10 years ago.

When I wrote my last post, I thought I’d be updating more often.  Well, now it’s 2 months and 6 days later and I have apparently broken my promise to myself.  Sorry about that.  So, let’s see… there’s been plenty going on with me.  For starters, I finished my self-defense class and have confirmation that I graduated from Akron.  But I still haven’t seen my diploma.  With my luck it’ll get lost in the mail somehow and I won’t see it for another 20 years.  I’ve also been searching for apartments now thanks to my well paying internship with Philips.  After spending 2 months searching, I think I’ve finally found one that isn’t a dump or over priced.  It’s a place in Bedford called Colony Club Apartments and it borders a large Cleveland metro park.  It’s only about 20 minutes from where I work and it’s north of all the normal rush hour traffic backups.  If anyone knows the area, let me know if you think it’s a good place to get an apartment.  Let’s see… I’ve also been searching for a job.  Unfortunately, GM turned me down for reasons that are apparently top secret.  My guess is that the company is doing too poorly to be able to hire anyone new.  So, this leaves me to do some more searching.  However, I have learned that a position in my department at work will be opening up in January 2006 because a guy is retiring.  And, I’ve also heard rumors that the company is considering opening up positions to handle a larger workload that we may be getting.  So, there’s a really good chance I may be a full time permanent Philips employee by the beginning of next year.   Well, I’m off to work on my resume.  Have a great week.

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while.  Life has been changing for me.  Ever since Akron U. goofed up my graduation, I’ve had to make a lot of hard decisions.  First of all, I chose option 1 from my previous post to handle the goofed up graduation.  I’m currently enrolled in self-defense till August 27th.  Then, with some luck, I’ll get my degree.  Secondly, I have decided to go for grad school in Fall 2006.  Why 2006 you ask? Well, I need the extra year to take the GREs, apply for schools early, decide which schools are better, and confirm that I want to go for an electrical engineering masters with an emphasis on Controls.  And trust me, I’m not going to go to Akron U. for this degree.  Thirdly, I’ve decided that I’m going to get a job and move out.  This is something that I tried to do by going to college in Florida.  But we all know how well that worked.  So, two days ago, I accepted another internship at Philips and will begin on Monday.   Then by the end of the month, I hope to be living in Cleveland.

Enough with the boring stuff… now for the fun stuff I did today.  I got to flip around people in my self-defense class!  We learned how to control an opponent and flip em onto the ground.   Yes, I also got flipped around.  I landed hard a few times, but I’m getting the hang of how to take falls. I think tomorrow’s class includes foot sweeps and some more ground fighting.  I hope we get around to learning the moves where you can rip someone’s heart out or chop someone in half using only your hands!

Well, I gotta get going.  Hope you all have a good one.
